Het Prins Claus Fonds steunde de laatste fase van post-productie van een audiovsuele installatie met de titel Mother's Day door audiovisueel kunstenaar Smadar Dreyfus. Smadar is geïnteresseerd in hoe betekenis wordt gecreëerd en gereconstureerd op het punt waar het hoorbare en het visuele elkaar tegenkomen. Door geluidsopnamen en stille beelden te bewerken wordt de kijker in een positie geplaatst waar deze participeert en deel van de installatie wordt.
Van 11september –13 december 2009 is er een expositie met 3 werken van Smadar dreyfus in Magazin 3, Stockholm Konsthall te zien. Het meest recente werk is Mother's Day.

The installation originates at the Israeli-Syrian Ceasefire line in the Golan Heights, across which the local Druze community has been geographically separated for several decades. At the heart of the installation are sound recordings of real dialogues (in Arabic in the local Druze dialect) on the annual Syrian ‘Mother’s day’ celebration in March, between mothers on the Israeli-controlled side of the ceasefire line and their student daughters and sons who arrive from Damascus to the ‘Shouting Hill’ located on the Syrian side.
The sound track of the dialogues conveys the fragility of communication yet is loaded with emotion. It is an expression of physical distance and emotional closeness across the geography of the valley; of both the excitement and happiness of ‘meeting’; and of lamentation on the impossibility to see each other face to face and to embrace. These voices ‘perform’ an artificially imposed physical boundary: they form an embodiment of this border while simultaneously encapsulating personal narratives that are being played out in public.'
Met steun van het Prins Claus Fonds heeft Smadar Dreyfus de installatie ook kunnen laten zien in gemeenschappen in de regio's waar de installatie zijn oorsprong had.
