Schrijfster Ayu Utami is een Indonesische rebel. In haar boeken schuwt ze er niet voor onbespreekbare taboes in de islamitische wereld aan te pakken. Of het nu gaat om onderdrukking, religie of sex. Op 25 vrijdag mei praat Ayu Utami in de Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam over haar leven en werk, over haar baanbrekende debuutroman Samans missie, en haar mysterieuze roman Het getal Fu.
