Figures of 2010

In 2001 the Fund received a commitment to subsidy from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the period from 2002 to 2011 for a total amount of € 34,033,516. This is an average of € 3,403,352 per year. In November 2009 the Fund received notice from the Minister for Development Cooperation that for the period 2010/2011, like for the period 2008/2009, € 1 million extra funding for Cultural Emergency Response was available. This brings the total of the subsidy to € 36,033,516.

Besides the financial contribution from the Government the Fund also is a beneficent of the Dutch Postcode Lottery. In 2010 an amount of € 500,000 was received as a regular contribution.

In addition, in 2010 incidental (project) funding was received. The in- kind sponsorship that was received related to the Awards presentation is valued at € 162.051. The contribution of co-financers to CER is € 421.200. In addition, the remaining additional funding were € 22.591. The total income from fundraising in 2010 therefore amounts to € 605.842.

Income from investments (interest) and other income amounts to € 24.513 in 2010.


Spent on targets

The financial resources should wherever possible be given to the primary objective of the Fund. In 2010 the Fund spent the following per programme: € 1,091,236 on Awards, € 292.660 on Knowledge Centre, € 1,163,213 on Cultural Emergency Response, € 1,555,291 on Applications and € 532.108 on Network Partnerships. The total expenses made for fundraising, management and administration in 2010 were € 481.031. It has been determined that the overhead rate may not be higher than 20%. The Board and Management are committed to keep this percentage as low as possible. In 2010 overhead was 9.6%.
