1.03.2012 Blogger Tsering Woeser not allowed to accept Prince Claus Award

The Prince Claus Funds regrets that Tsering Woeser is denied the opportunity to receive the 2011 Prince Claus Award from the hands of the Dutch Ambassador in China today. Tsering Woeser is a courageous Tibetan writer whose work offers unique perspectives on the complexity of present-day Tibet. According to Christa Meindersma, director of the Prince Claus Fund: “the fact that Tsering Woeser is not free to leave her home and freely express herself, demonstrates once again the importance of her voice.”

  

30.01.2012 Persuitnodiging interview met Claudia Roden door Hanneke Groenteman

Op donderdag 2 februari interviewt Hanneke Groenteman kookboekenschrijfster Claudia Roden in De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. In het kader van de tentoonstelling  'Jodendom. Een wereld vol verhalen' organiseren het Prins Claus Fonds en De Nieuwe Kerk deze avond waarop Claudia Roden verhalen vertelt over haar zoektocht naar Joodse gerechten overal ter wereld. Alom bewonderd als zowel een geweldige kok en getalenteerd auteur, schreef Roden klassieke werken over gerechten uit het Midden-Oosten, de mediterrane, Italiaanse en Spaanse keuken. The Book of Jewish Food werd acht keer bekroond met een prijs. Na afloop van het evenement wordt de Nederlandse heruitgave van De Joodse keuken verkocht. Claudia signeert graag dit boek, dat niet alleen recepten biedt maar door de gerechten ook het verhaal van het Joodse volk vertelt.
