8.4.2012 Cambodian Amrita Performing Arts brings 'Breaking the Silence'...
On April 8 2012, one day after the official commemoration ceremony of the genocide in Rwanda, a bilingual, bicultural version of the performance 'Breaking the Silence' will start its tour through Rwanda in Ishyo Art Centre in Kigali.
1.3.2012 Comorian Theatre: Un dhikri pour nos morts
In March, April and May 2012 the production Un Dhikri Pour Nos Morts plays in the Comoros. The Prince Claus Fund supported this production of Washko Ink's.
2.2.2012 Salvaging the collection of the Egyptian Scientific Institute
During a protest on Tahrir square in Cairo at 17 December 2011 a Molotov-cocktail missed its intended target and caused a great tragedy to the Egyptian Scientific Institute. The building with it is treasure trove of books, manuscripts and writings – most notably the handwritten 24-volume Description de l'Egypte – was set on fire.
22.12.2011 Shahidul Alam - My Journey as a Witness
The Prince Claus Fund organised the book presentation of the photo book My Journey as a Witness by Shahidul Alam on 24 January 2012. In Foam Amsterdam Shahidul passionately told the story of his journey to becoming among other a photographer and a cultural activist who in his own way fights for justice and equality in his country Bangladesh.
